Red and White Grocery has been a staple in the Bartlett community ever since Emily Kruse and her father, Larry Bohuslav, first came to Bartlett over 25 years ago. Already an experienced businessman in the grocery industry, Larry jumped at the exciting challenge this store posed, and Emily, in 6th grade at the time, followed along in stride. Together, the father-daughter store was transformed over the years into the beloved establishment it is today.
The allure of Bartlett’s rich history and incredible community brings a strong local loyalty to the Red and White. Locals and travelers from across the country frequent the small-town gem for a taste of what makes Bartlett so memorable. After Larry retired, the business was passed on to Emily, who works tirelessly to provide fresh, quality products to her community. Red and White Grocery has a full-service meat market that produces freshly cut deli meats daily and serves homemade lunches every day.
While she aims to keep Red and White Grocery close to its original look and feel, Emily has big plans for the store. Her goal is to further develop and expand the establishment into a meat market and restaurant for the entire Bartlett community and beyond to enjoy.
So, swing by the Red and White for delicious food, great people, and outstanding service! And as always, please reach out with any Bartlett questions – I’m always happy to share stories from my favorite community.
