In the 1930s four farmers formed the very first Electric Co-Op. They received a grant from President Roosevelt called the Rural Electrification Grant to run powerlines overhead from cities out to farms. Bartlett, TX had the very first farmhouse with electricity from the Rural Electrification Grant!
